Steel Studs and Track

Structural Studs and Track
Structural studs and track are used for floor and ceiling joists, axial load-bearing walls and curtain walls. Load-bearing members start at a thickness of 33 mils and can be as thick as 97 mils. Members are selected based on the loads they will be required to carry as well as wall and floor thicknesses called for in the building design. Structural Studs
Structural studs are made in a variety of flange widths to meet different applications. S200 are preferred for most joist applications and are also used in instances where the wider attachment surface is desired for panel attachments in walls. S250 are desired by most contractors who enjoy the added strength and attachment surface. Structural Track
Structural track is designed for use with structural studs. The track is available in matching thickness. Typically, T125 track is sufficient for most applications, although T150 legs are preferred by some contractors. The longer-leg T200 track is available for applications requiring additional support or for use in meeting certain seismic construction standards. T 125 (1-1-1/4" leg)

Lets head of wall float within the legs of the tack. Allows for deflection and seismic conditions.
Available in 14, 16, and 18 gauge. Notched Track
Used for bracing and bridging of joists and exterior walls. Also used in hospitals and schools as mechanical backing to support equipment attachment. Slide Clips
Slide clips suspend curtain wall framing members, allowing vertical movement of the structure without transferring axail load to the wall system.Angle-type slide clip lateral capacity is 400 lbs.; double clip is 700 lbs. Channel-type slide clip lateral capacity ranges from 600 lbs to 1200 lbs depending on steel gauge and strength.
